This role involves serving as the primary front-of-house contact for all external stakeholders and guests, ensuring a professional and courteous interaction. The concierge will assist the Community Leadership Team with administrative activities to facilitate smooth community operations.
Responsibilities
- Receive guests and visitors, requiring them to sign in
- Assist visitors in locating resident rooms
- Answer telephone calls, take detailed messages, respond to requests, and transfer calls appropriately
- Announce appointments and arrivals to the relevant staff
- Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested
- Sort and distribute mail appropriately to mailboxes, residents, and departments as requested
- Create and maintain a warm, welcoming, and positive atmosphere
- Maintain strict confidentiality of pertinent resident information to protect rights
- Provide information about community services and rates to families and prospective residents
- Assemble and maintain admission and information packets
- Keep the front desk and lobby area neat and organized
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Prior experience working with the public
- Comfortable with multi-line telephone systems
- Good physical and mental health; PPD screening required
- Interest in people, especially the geriatric population
- Ability to work without close supervision and follow instructions
- Tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, residents, families, and visitors
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and external contacts
- Level-headed in emergency situations with an acute sense of responsibility
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent required
- Prior experience in working with the public
