IV Therapist

About This Role

Provide direct and indirect nursing care as an IV Therapist, ensuring safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care through the nursing process. This role involves health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoring optimal functioning and comfort for patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for Community Infusion at Hillcrest
• Practice professional nursing by providing direct and indirect nursing care
• Hold ultimate responsibility for nursing care
• Provide health maintenance, teaching, counseling, planning, and restoration for optimal patient functioning and comfort
• Function as a health care team leader responsible for safe delivery of patient-centered, goal-oriented care
• Direct and guide patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel
• Maintain standards of professional nursing

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures
• Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts
• BLS certification
• Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner
• Possess adequate sight/hearing senses
• 2 years medical/surgical experience
• Current knowledge and skills in IV therapy nursing

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred.
• 2 years medical/surgical experience required

Nice to Have

• PICC certification
• Chemotherapy administration experience
• ONS Chemo/Bio course completion within 12 months, renewed every two years
