Inventory Specialist

About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing and managing all inventory-related activities for both the front end and pharmacy departments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimal on-shelf availability within the store.

Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy
• Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns
• Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage all in-store inventory processes like receiving, counting, pricing, and returns
• Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms
• Review and coordinate the proper use of reports and system applications impacting on-hand balances and pricing
• Execute and maintain asset protection techniques for front end and pharmacy
• File claims for warehouse and vendor overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods
• Open and close the store in absence of store management in designated locations
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving issues when serving as leader on duty
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members

Requirements

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates)
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage execution
• Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state

Qualifications

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates)

Nice to Have

• Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate
• Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file
