About This Role

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all inventory management processes for both the front end and pharmacy at Walgreens, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. It involves training staff, managing asset protection, and maintaining on-shelf availability to support customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store (front end and pharmacy).
  • Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
  • Champion On-Shelf Availability, handling receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes.
  • Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
  • Review and coordinate proper use of reports and system applications impacting inventory and pricing accuracy.
  • Execute and maintain front end and pharmacy asset protection techniques, filing claims for overages, shortages, errors, or damaged goods.
  • Open and close the store in absence of management (in designated stores), including cash handling and cashier responsibilities.
  • Engage customers, offering assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Coach team members on warehouse and vendor inventory management processes, including creating, reviewing, and receiving orders.
  • Scan in all deliveries while the vendor is still in the store, focusing on One Box receiving.
  • Verify pharmacy shipments and post all pharmacy warehouse, ABC prescription, OTC, and other vendor orders daily.
  • Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) end-to-end process, including managing disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns.
  • Process pharmacy recalls, vendor returns, and facilitate excess inventory transfers under pharmacist supervision.
  • Execute all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and ensuring accurate signage.
  • Support front end and pharmacy ordering for expense items and monitor manual orders for excess.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure inventory compliance with state and local laws.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory records, organized files, and preparing for physical inventory.
  • Assist and coach store team on package delivery activities and supports Pickup Program execution.
  • Register all related sales on POS system in designated stores, processing returns, voids, and cash drops.
  • Attend company-based trainings, complete e-learning modules, and obtain/maintain required pharmacy licenses/certifications.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members, coaching on inventory systems.

Requirements

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates)
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi task and manage execution
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state

Qualifications

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file
