About This Role

The Inventory Specialist at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing and training on inventory best practices, ensuring accurate stock levels, and managing aspects of both front end and pharmacy operations. This role focuses on maintaining on-shelf availability, coordinating inventory processes, and supporting customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute, monitor, and train on inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store (front end and pharmacy).
  • Support pharmacy inventory management including receiving, counting, ordering, and facilitating returns.
  • Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, returns, and all in-store inventory processes.
  • Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
  • Review and coordinate proper use of reports and system applications impacting inventory and pricing accuracy.
  • Execute and maintain asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, or damaged goods.
  • Scan all deliveries from vendors while they are still in the store.
  • Under supervision of pharmacist-in-charge, verify all pharmacy shipments and complete postings for received products.
  • Complete On-Shelf Availability (OSA) processes including disposals, call-ins, and vendor returns before expiration.
  • Complete execution of all pricing activities including price changes, markdowns, and daily pricing adjustments.

Requirements

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates)
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi task and manage execution
  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

Qualifications

  • Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file
