Inventory Specialist

About This Role

Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices across the entire store, including front end and pharmacy. Ensure accuracy of on-hand balances, manage orders, deliveries, returns, and maintain compliance with inventory regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for front end and pharmacy.
• Support pharmacy inventory management activities, including receiving, counting, ordering, and returns.
• Champion On-Shelf Availability and manage receiving, counting, pricing, and all in-store inventory processes.
• Validate and ensure accuracy of planograms.
• Review and coordinate proper use of reports and system applications impacting inventory accuracy and pricing.
• Execute and maintain asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, errors, or damaged goods.
• Complete execution of all pricing activities, including price changes, markdowns, and regulatory tasks.
• Support front end and pharmacy ordering, monitor manual orders, and maintain consigned inventory.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities across all departments and stockrooms.
• Ensure inventory compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Assist in the maintenance of inventory records and prepare for physical inventory activities.

Requirements

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates)
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multi-task and manage execution
• Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems

Qualifications

• Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal candidates) or one year of prior retail work experience (external candidates).

Nice to Have

• Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate
