Supervise and coordinate inventory control activities in a stockroom, warehouse, or yard to maintain accurate stock levels and efficient storage layouts. This role involves studying records, recommending actions for discrepancies, and overseeing inbound associates.
Responsibilities
- Maintain layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas considering turnover, size, and weight of items.
- Study records and recommend remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
- Review records for accuracy and compliance with established procedures to determine adequacy of stock levels.
- Schedule work for special and periodic inventories.
- Prepare composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions.
- Issue written and oral instructions and expedite workflow with team members.
- Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Oversee inbound associates in their daily tasks and job responsibilities.
- Responsible for payroll validations for all respective IC and Inbound associates.
- Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control
- Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment
- Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift
- Experience using WMS software
- Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices (KPI reporting, Coordinating Cycle Count programs, Product rotation)
- PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
- Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control, and 1-2 years experience in a warehouse environment.
