Supervise and direct all activities and employees within Inventory Control for a manufacturing environment, focusing on recruitment, team development, performance management, and strategic process improvement to ensure optimal operational performance and cost management.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, and coach Inventory Control staff
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs, and create training curriculum
- Establish clear measurable goals and objectives for team performance
- Provide regular communication forums for idea exchange within the department
- Define, develop, and implement Inventory Control strategies aligned with campus directions
- Identify creative ways to reduce costs by streamlining processes and systems
- Monitor departmental performance and assure optimum output, utilizing existing and new procedures
- Drive inspection out of processes to increase dock-to-stock material percentage
- Supervise and coordinate activities related to verifying and keeping records of outgoing shipments
- Ensure accuracy of record keeping and actual stock in the stockroom
Requirements
- 5+ years Inventory Control experience
- Prior supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of global and regional logistics operations and industry
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in SAP
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; or a combination of education, experience and/or training
- Five years Inventory Control experience and prior supervisory experience.
