Material Handler

About This Role

Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently to handle inbound and outbound freight. Maintain an organized warehouse, ensure correct staging and loading of shipments, and provide material handling services for shipping/receiving activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks safely and efficiently
• Handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and orderly
• Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping
• Load and unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers using proper procedures
• Ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly
• Properly store stock in the warehouse and move product into storage racks
• Work from warehouse operations sheets to pick customer orders and load on trailers
• Record and verify the accuracy of shipments against paperwork for incoming and outgoing deliveries
• Complete daily forklift maintenance inspections
• Report all accidents/incidents, damage of stock, or building damage immediately to Shift Supervisor

Requirements

• 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks
• Good stable work record
• General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or general education diploma (GED)
• 3-6 months of forklift driving experience in a warehouse using sit down forklifts and Electric Pallet Jacks

Nice to Have

• Warehousing certifications
• PC skills
• Experience in building pallets with stock and breaking down stock to fill independent orders
• Experience in cross docking freight process
