Insurance Defense Attorney

About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our legal team, focusing on personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking cases. This role involves managing various legal matters, performing legal research, drafting memoranda, and representing clients in litigation.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in insurance defense litigation matters
• Prepare and respond to pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
• Conduct depositions and manage expert witness preparation
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
• Assist in trial preparation and appear in court as necessary
• Perform legal research and draft legal memoranda
• Manage case files and documentation
• Collaborate with senior counsel and legal teams to strategize case approaches
• Conduct site inspections and gather evidence for cases
• Maintain a paperless document management system

Requirements

• California Bar License
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
• Strong knowledge of personal injury, construction, and commercial trucking law
• Proficient in legal research, writing, and document review
• Demonstrated trial experience and ability to conduct court appearances
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases effectively
• Experience in negotiating settlements and handling breach of contract cases
• Currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance defense litigation
