About This Role

This Industrial Engineer role at Collins Aerospace focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes for safety, efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The position involves leading continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and Industrial Engineering principles.

Responsibilities

  • Establish the physical layout of machinery and optimize the sequence of operations and workflow.
  • Perform production/manufacturing capacity analysis and planning.
  • Plan the sequence of operations and procedures and document manufacturing standard work and routings.
  • Plan the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to establish maximum utilization of equipment.
  • Conduct studies pertaining to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) access.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) Events, 5S events, facility layout events, or other Kaizen events

Qualifications

  • University Degree
  • less than 2 years of prior relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Production/Manufacturing Capacity Analysis/Planning and Line Balancing
  • Experience developing business justification in pursuit of executing Capital Expenditure Projects
  • Experience calculating Takt Time, Utilization, Productivity and performing complex Time Studies
  • Experience with JIRA (Atlassian tool)
  • Experience Running Production Manufacturing Simulations
  • AGILE framework task management and project planning
  • SAP / ERP Experience
  • Experience Designing Layouts in AutoCAD and/or Visio
  • PowerBI or other data analysis tools
