Income Maintenance Caseworker

About This Role

Determine eligibility for various financial assistance and health programs in accordance with state regulations, utilizing interviewing, policy interpretation, and data entry skills to serve applicants and recipients.

Responsibilities

• Determine eligibility for financial assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP, Nursing Home Care, and Waivers
• Administer additional programs from the Department of Human Services for applicants/recipients
• Interview customers over the phone or in person
• Review, interpret, and correctly apply policy
• Data enter information into an automated eligibility determination system
• Perform manual calculations
• Type clear and thorough case comments about client circumstances and changes
• Complete all work within deadlines in accordance with federal and state policy
• Comply with regimented policies and procedures
• Stay current with major changes impacting on knowledge and skill

Requirements

• Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring the analysis and interpretation of data; or a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
• Ability to meet PA residency requirement
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Pass an enhanced background check including fingerprint-based federal records check, PA State Police clearance, local law enforcement checks, and citizenship/residency verification

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in interviewing or work requiring the analysis and interpretation of data; or a bachelor's degree; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
