Maintenance Repairman 2

About This Role

Join the Pennsylvania State Police as a Maintenance Repairman 2, responsible for a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks on buildings and property to uphold exceptional facility standards and support the PSP's mission.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all buildings and property
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces, including preparing surfaces and selecting appropriate paint
• Perform remodeling tasks such as repairing, installing, or removing doors, shelving, flooring, roofing, walls, enclosures, and office furniture
• Undertake masonry projects, including installing or repairing concrete sidewalks and curbs
• Execute plumbing repairs, fixing pumps, sinks, toilets, showers, pipes, leaks, and clogged drains
• Operate and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring proper functioning of furnaces, pumps, steam extractors, and filtration systems
• Complete electrical work such as installing and repairing lighting fixtures, switches, ballasts, new circuits, and room rewiring
• Perform snow removal, walkway and grounds cleanup, lawn mowing, trimming, weeding, and leaf removal
• Operate equipment related to groundskeeping and snow removal

Requirements

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal Government job title) OR Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, involving at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training affording required knowledges, skills, and abilities
• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 or four years in building and plant maintenance work involving at least two building, electrical, or mechanical trades
