Human Resources Manager

About This Role

This role will create, modernize, reformulate, and implement training methodologies and programs across Carowinds at all organizational levels. The individual will lead the strategy and implementation of Leadership training and development for all employees.

Responsibilities

• Create content and strategy that supports the development of employees at all career levels
• Train instructors and supervisors in techniques and skills for formal and informal employee training
• Manage training for leadership, peers, and committees across the company
• Analyze ongoing training needs to develop new programs or modify existing ones
• Evaluate instructor performance and effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement
• Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs using various methods
• Create and track training metrics for technical and Leadership training, complying with state and federal law
• Prepare the annual training budget for the organization
• Partner with divisional leadership and conduct surveys to identify training needs
• Develop and organize training manuals, materials, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials
• Partner with and support Divisions with ongoing department-specific training across the park
• Actively participate with peers in developing training strategy for all Six Flags parks
• Supervise seasonal/part-time team
• Support the Human Resources division in various areas as needed
• Manage the operation of the employee store, including uniform distribution, inventory, and employee purchases

Requirements

• 6 to 8 years of current and progressively responsible experience, preferably in a training and organizational development or human resources, preferably in a service and multi-unit industry
• 6 to 8 years of communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communication, Education or related field
• Related training certifications
• Active professional memberships
• In-depth experience with the design and delivery of learning programs for technical and soft skills
• Organizational development expertise
• Well-rounded knowledge of learning applications and various training tools
• Proven ability to build strong business partnerships and consultative abilities
• Ability to succeed as a member of a cohesive, synergistic Human Resources Team
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Effective project management and prioritization skills with ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced culture
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LMS and HRIS systems

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communication, Education or related field
• 6 to 8 years of current and progressively responsible experience, preferably in training and organizational development or human resources, in a service and multi-unit industry
