The Human Resources Generalist supports HR operations by overseeing new hire onboarding, benefits administration, FMLA processes, and providing guidance on performance and employee relations for a property management company.
Responsibilities
- Oversee new hire onboarding and verify accurate data entry into HRIS
- Coordinate new hire orientation programs
- Act as point of contact for benefit-related questions, including health, welfare, and 401k plans
- Administer the 401K Plan and facilitate annual plan audit
- Participate in the annual benefits renewal process and provide necessary reporting
- Manage all aspects of the FMLA process, including communication, documentation, and compliance
- Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management and improvement strategies
- Maintain HRIS and assist with personnel and management questions related to the system
- Manage all aspects of the unemployment claims process
- Administer the company’s quarterly random drug screening program
- Assist Supervisors with employee relation issues and escalate as necessary
- Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, offering guidance and assistance across HR-related matters
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information to personnel
- Advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet manipulation
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and discretion
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5+ years of HR related experience
