About This Role

The Human Resources Generalist supports HR operations by overseeing new hire onboarding, benefits administration, FMLA processes, and providing guidance on performance and employee relations for a property management company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee new hire onboarding and verify accurate data entry into HRIS
  • Coordinate new hire orientation programs
  • Act as point of contact for benefit-related questions, including health, welfare, and 401k plans
  • Administer the 401K Plan and facilitate annual plan audit
  • Participate in the annual benefits renewal process and provide necessary reporting
  • Manage all aspects of the FMLA process, including communication, documentation, and compliance
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance management and improvement strategies
  • Maintain HRIS and assist with personnel and management questions related to the system
  • Manage all aspects of the unemployment claims process
  • Administer the company’s quarterly random drug screening program
  • Assist Supervisors with employee relation issues and escalate as necessary
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions, offering guidance and assistance across HR-related matters

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information to personnel
  • Advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet manipulation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and discretion
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5+ years of HR related experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience with a decentralized workforce
