The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key business partner to management, focusing on human resource needs for the flight kitchen and assisting with broader HR strategies. This role supports employee retention, manages labor relations, and ensures compliance with company policies and employment laws.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a business partner to management to identify HR needs and implement strategies for employee retention.
- Drive division-wide human resources strategy, programs, and processes into the unit.
- Partner with operations and training functions to identify training needs and provide input on approaches and content.
- Identify and understand workforce needs, and assist with recruitment for union hourly, exempt, and non-exempt positions.
- Serve as the primary employee and labor relations point of contact to mediate and resolve disputes and union grievances.
- Provide counseling and training for unit management in areas like labor/employee relations, EEO, affirmative action, and discrimination.
- Ensure accurate and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and related local, state, and federal laws.
- Deliver orientation and other training programs as needed.
- Complete weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Respond to employment-related claims from government agencies and recommend settlement or defense based on investigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of experience in human resources generalist role
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products including Excel
- Current or previous labor relations experience
- Strong organizational, analytical and leadership skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal employment law
- Proficiency in all areas of EEO/Title VII compliance including expertise in investigating and formally responding to Title VII charges
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- At least 2 years of experience in a human resources generalist role; experience in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, or food service is highly desirable.

- Experience working in transportation, hospitality, manufacturing or food service environment
- Multi-lingual skills preferred
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred
- PHR certification
