About This Role

This role is responsible for independently managing disability cases, facilitating return-to-work processes, and providing expert guidance on disability management policies. You will serve as a resource for employees and management regarding ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, LOA, and workers' compensation.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the return to work process for employees with injuries or illness, independently, and with disability job accommodation requests.
  • Process ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, LOA, and workers' compensation cases.
  • Provide case management, with some guidance, and serve as a resource to employees, supervisors, and managers to modified duty, disability leave, and workers' compensation.
  • Work with insurance companies and provide case chronology for legal review or create documentation for labor grievances, investigations, disputes, fit for duty, and employee issues related to disability management (DM).
  • Maintain employee database systems.
  • Create reports, metrics, and FMLA/LOA data and conduct analyses to identify DM trends.
  • Conduct education and training sessions to stakeholders about DM policies and procedures, with some guidance.
  • Utilize comprehensive knowledge to educate others about integration and alignment with other benefits programs.
  • Follow DM policies, procedures, and practices to meet legal, regulatory, and internal compliance, and federal and state laws.
  • Develop strategies, independently, taking action to minimize and mitigate risk.
  • Support the development and deployment of strategies, programs, policies, and procedures with HR Centers of Excellence and business stakeholders.
  • Pursue self-development and effective relationships with others, including mentoring team members.
  • Complete work assignments by applying up-to-date expertise in subject area to generate creative solutions.
  • Conduct company human resources support activities by providing support to internal and external stakeholders on diverse HR specialties.
  • Assist in the implementation of organizational change efforts.
  • Perform employee and/or labor relations activities by conducting research and providing recommendations and assistance on employment related regulations.
  • Assist with HR investigation efforts by collecting and analyzing data, conducting interviews, and determining action steps for resolution.
  • Support reporting of Company employee information and external benchmarks.
  • Support HR compliance by staying abreast of regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Comprehensive knowledge of ADA/ADAAA, FMLA, LOA, and workers' compensation processes
  • Knowledge of federal and state HR laws
