About This Role

This role involves planning, instructing, and assessing student learning based on standards-based curricula for assigned courses. Additionally, the individual will lead and manage the high school's athletic football program, focusing on developing student-athletes and fostering a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, instruct and assess student learning through standards-based curricula for assigned courses
  • Assist in other school programs as assigned
  • Provide leadership to the assigned athletic program, fostering a positive and motivating environment for players and assistant coaches
  • Develop and communicate a clear vision for the team's success
  • Implement effective coaching strategies to enhance players' skills, both individually and as a team
  • Monitor and assess the performances of players, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement
  • Plan and conduct regular team practices, focusing on skill development, game strategies, and physical conditioning
  • Create a well-organized and efficient practice schedule that maximizes player development
  • Develop and implement effective game plans, making strategic decisions during contests
  • Analyze opponents' strengths and weaknesses to exploit opportunities for success
  • Foster a sense of teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship among players
  • Encourage positive communication and collaboration on and off the field, court or track
  • Stay informed and in compliance with all relevant South Carolina High School League rules and regulations
  • Actively engage with the community, building support for the assigned athletic program through events, fundraisers, and outreach
  • Teach concepts and skills in the relevant subject matter that facilitate learning and contribute to students' academic and social/emotional development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant teaching content or related area
  • Previous student teaching experience or equivalent
  • Assigned athletic coaching experience at the high school level (or higher)
  • Valid SC Teaching License

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant teaching content or related area of discipline
  • Previous student teaching experience or equivalent combined training/experience. Assigned athletic coaching experience at the high school level (or higher).
