Math Interventionist

About This Role

The Interventionist (RTI) prepares for, assesses, and instructs individuals and small groups of students within the school Response to Intervention (RtI) program. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify ways to help struggling students and meet their learning styles.

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the mission, vision and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One towards increased outcomes for students
• Establishes a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all employee and student information
• Participates in all professional meetings and training sessions as required
• Monitors and assists in testing of individual students and in school-wide testing in accordance with district, state, and/or federal laws and policies
• Plans for and instructs individual students and small groups of students identified through the school's RtI program
• Analyzes data to plan for instruction and regularly sets academic and/or behavior goals for students
• Communicates with parents of students on their caseload prior to and throughout Tier II/III placement
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and training workshops
• Effectively uses personal computing devices and software applications for the management of student records, instructional efficiency and professional development

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education with certification in a related area
• Previous student teaching experience
• Valid South Carolina teaching certification
• Actively pursuing the endorsement required by the Read to Succeed legislation
• Current government issued identification
