Student Support Monitor

About This Role

This role assists school administrators and school resource officers in maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment, focusing on the care, welfare, safety, and security of students and staff. The Student Support Monitor operates under general supervision to ensure a secure educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold the mission, vision and strategic goals of Lexington County School District One
• Interact, communicate and collaborate with all stakeholders effectively
• Establish a safe, supportive, positive and productive working and learning environment
• Operate general office and technology equipment needed for daily activities
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all employee and student information
• Participate in all professional meetings and training sessions as required
• Monitor the interior school facility and exterior campus for students in violation of school rules and expectations
• Build positive relationships with students
• Monitor student gathering areas such as the commons area and cafeteria
• Prevent incidents of violence, theft, harassment, bullying, and other activities that detract from a safe and secure learning environment
• Monitor students' movement on campus
• Monitor tardy stations
• Issue Student IDs for students missing IDs
• Bring to the attention of school administrators and SRO any information related to potential issues affecting safety

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Ability to become certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
• Current government issued identification

• High School Diploma

• Background in law enforcement or other security type career
