This role involves collaborating with team members to implement user stories, focusing on assessment, planning, architecture, design, coding, code review, unit testing, and continuous delivery pipeline maintenance. The engineer will contribute to improving agreed delivery processes and practices.
Responsibilities
- Code user stories collaboratively with fellow team members to ensure incremental delivery and minimize handover delays
- Contribute to the estimation of user stories during release and iteration planning
- Collaborate on application architecture and design for sound and fit-for-purpose approaches
- Analyze requirements and work with the product owner to ensure stories exhibit INVEST characteristics
- Participate in iteration retrospectives to promote continuous team improvement
- Contribute to departmental efforts to analyze and improve delivery processes and practices
Requirements
- More than Four (4) years of relevant software engineering experience
- Proven experience working in Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Familiarity with Source branching strategies (e.g., Git Flow)
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI)
- Experience managing tasks using Jira or similar Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools
- Demonstrated ability to write unit tests and develop testable code
- Hands-on experience building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure
- Strong SQL skills and experience with major relational databases (e.g., SQL Server)
- .NET Development (including .NET fundamentals and C# up to version 7.0)
- Experience with .NET Core
- Experience designing and building distributed microservice-based applications
- Experience in .NET web development with MVC
- Competence in front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required, Graduate Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- More than Four (4) years of relevant software engineering experience
