Front Office Associate

About This Role

The Front Office Associate provides crucial support to patients and professionals at RAYUS Radiology by managing appointments, greeting and registering patients, and handling insurance verification and authorization.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in patients scheduled for imaging services; process payments and copays as needed
• Answer phones and handle calls in an efficient and friendly manner
• Field phone calls appropriately for Center Team Members
• Act as liaison between imaging technologists and patients waiting for exams, relaying messages regarding scanner status and clinic information
• Maintain organization of the front office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office cleanup
• Order office supplies as needed and maintain supply of patient information sheets
• Complete patient appointment confirmation calls and provide preparation instructions to patients
• Fax/scan reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested
• Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate
• Enter and submit patient exam orders; verify matching exam schedules
• Schedule referrals and ensure proper authorizations are obtained; schedule walk-in patients
• Process requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients
• Maintain an up-to-date and accurate database of all current and potential referring physicians
• Verify patient's insurance coverage; pre-certify all patient exams with the insurance company
• Obtain insurance authorizations; apply knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures to obtain pre-authorization
• Facilitate Release of Information (ROI) requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies
