Forklift Operator

About This Role

Operate powered industrial trucks to safely load, unload, and move materials within a packaging solutions manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate inventory and proper handling of products.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for the forklift in a safe manner
• Load and unload trailers, including sheet orders with or without pallets
• Take finished product from the unitizer line and store in proper locations in the shipping department; this includes the shipping line in the corrugator
• Scan all units into proper locations
• Check units and load tags for accuracy; report any problems to supervision as they occur
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift
• Ensure that all units loaded on trailers for delivery have proper number of bands, cover sheets, and stretch wrap
• Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines
• Remove finished goods from machines
• Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas
• Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork/computer
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Follow LOTO procedures
• Notify supervision of needed repairs

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Able to read, speak, write and comprehend basic English
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Good physical condition, i.e. able to lift 25-50# on a consistent basis
• Read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
• Prior shipping forklift experience
• Prior work experience in the corrugated box industry

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior shipping forklift experience and work experience in the corrugated box industry is required.
