Gluer Operator

About This Role

Operate and maintain finishing machinery, particularly folder/gluer and Leary systems, to ensure efficient production of cartons. Troubleshoot equipment issues and mentor colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain finishing machinery at maximum efficiency
• Perform efficient and speedy make-ready procedures for machinery
• Troubleshoot problem areas in equipment
• Become proficient in setting up and operating folder/gluer machines
• Utilize and troubleshoot the Leary system for various cartons
• Adjust machine settings during production runs
• Feed and pack/inspect products as needed
• Navigate and enter work orders into the plant floor data system (JD Edwards)

Requirements

• Proficiency in efficient and speedy make-ready processes
• Ability to run machinery at maximum rated efficiency
• Proficiency in troubleshooting equipment problems
• Knowledge in understanding job jackets and pallet tickets
• Proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting the Leary system
• Ability to set up and run a folder/gluer
• Compliance with workplace rules, policies, procedures, SQF, and safety
• Basic mechanical machine knowledge
• Ability to adjust machine settings during production runs
• Ability to make adjustments for proper carton feeding and delivery
• Proficiency with setting up all make-readies and operating all folder/gluer and Leary Glue and Detection systems
• Ability to navigate the plant floor data system and enter work orders into JD Edwards
