Food Service Worker/Cashier

About This Role

The Food Service Worker/Cashier performs cashiering duties and general food service work while maintaining sanitation standards in food preparation, service, and dining facilities at Northern Kentucky University.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and weighing fruits and vegetables
• Carry pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove, and refrigerator
• Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food safety procedures
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements
• Use approved food recipes and production standards for quality, serving temperatures, and portion control
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner, resolving complaints
• Perform sales transactions, enter sales into cash register, and make change
• Manage assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining service area cleanliness

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary, willing to train.
