About This Role

Serve patients and prepare food items within the Food & Nutrition Services department. This role involves patient meal tray assembly and delivery, maintaining sanitation, and assisting patients with menu completion.

Responsibilities

  • Plate food items and assemble patient meal trays
  • Prepare food items for all areas following standardized recipes
  • Prepare patient nourishments and write-ins
  • Ensure area and equipment are maintained to accepted quality standards
  • Load and operate dishwashing equipment, taking daily temperatures
  • Perform assigned cleaning functions, including operating floor washing machine
  • Maintain and properly stock necessary food and supply items
  • Label and date all food and supply items
  • Use and mix chemicals safely, labeling secondary bottles
  • Assist with tray delivery and retrieval
  • Collect patient menus and assist with menu completion
  • Inventory and deliver food and supplies to assigned units
  • Take temperatures of assigned refrigerators and freezers and document them
  • Perform procedures in retail areas, including serving/portioning food
  • Display and label food items using menu boards and POS signage

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write
  • Be at least 16 years of age

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred
  • Prior satisfactory work experience is desired
