Food Service Assistant, LTC

About This Role

This role involves supporting food service operations within a healthcare setting, ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and excellent customer service. The Food Service Assistant is crucial for maintaining quality control standards and supporting the nutritional needs of patients.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record proper temperature of food
• Set up and maintain a clean and sanitized serving area
• Prepare and serve food items
• Restock food areas
• Clean and sanitize equipment
• Receive payment for food and beverages using a computerized register
• Comply with Hazardous Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines for food service
• Communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers
• Operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, and dishwashers

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions
• Ability to perform basic math
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation processes
• Ability to be on feet for the majority of the day and walk far distances

Nice to Have

• Previous customer service experience
• Retail counting and reconciliation of money
• Knowledge of food service
• Experience working in the food industry
