Serve as an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance in a long-term care setting. Demonstrate expert-level experience and assist other staff while maintaining high accountability.
Responsibilities
- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN)
- Demonstrate expert-level experience as a certified nursing assistant and assist other staff as needed
- Provide assistance with basic health care needs including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs
- Assist residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment, and provide range of motion and passive exercises
- Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, assisting residents with meals and snacks
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures as needed
- Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
- Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs
- Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational
- Provide assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourage participation
- May be responsible for completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program including documentation, scheduling, and leading programs
Requirements
- Minimum age of 16
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing
- Maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year (minimum 12 hours annually)
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Minimum two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
Nice to Have
- Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care
- Restorative Nursing training completed within 6 months (if required)
- Certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry (if applicable)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be medically qualified to perform driving functions (if classified as a Sanford Category II Driver)
