This role is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide professional nursing care to residents of all ages in a long-term care setting on night shifts. The LPN will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care under supervision
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles in clinical settings
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered
- Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Document resident interactions, outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public
- Collaborate with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under direction
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as an LPN
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
- Attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum OR had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
- Ability to obtain and maintain required department specific competencies and certifications
- Ability to complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
- Minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility, or supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of a pre-licensure nursing program curriculum
