Floral Manager

About This Role

Manage the floral department, ensuring guest satisfaction through Ultimate Service and efficient operation. Lead a team, oversee production and promotion goals, and maintain profitability and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests, ensuring ultimate service
• Hire, train, and manage performance of team members
• Communicate information to the entire department
• Maintain a positive atmosphere, spirit, and morale within the department
• Demonstrate effective leadership skills by managing time and delegation
• Develop team members and future leaders utilizing available materials and systems
• Support and execute division concepts and programs
• Execute and meet financial goals
• Identify areas of opportunity throughout the store and within the department
• Ensure quality and consistent product availability and solutions to guests
• Safeguard, control, and monitor all department assets
• Practice safe work habits and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Oversee consistent and correct utilization of department systems and processes
• Direct meetings with the department leadership team to plan production and promotion goals
• Verify team member schedules against business needs
• Coach and discipline team members in accordance with policy and procedures
• Oversee inventory process and reporting
• Approve all purchase orders and maintain adequate stock levels
• Order and adjust standing orders for flowers, plants, and related merchandise and supplies
• Assist and lead designers and sales clerks in completing their tasks

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year experience in floral retail
• Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management and subordinates in a professional manner
• Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve and work with minimal supervision
• Working knowledge of plants and flowers
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. and push and pull up to 100 lbs.
• Technical skills to perform basic math and computer tasks (Word, Excel, and Email)
• Flexibility to work various hours/shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to function as a team member

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in floral retail
