Assistant Grocery Manager

About This Role

The Assistant Grocery Manager is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction and efficient operation of the grocery, frozen, and dairy departments. This role involves managing stock levels, team members, merchandising, and financial assets, while assuming store responsibility in the absence of senior management.

Responsibilities

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department
• Assist with maintaining proper stock levels in grocery, dairy and frozen departments
• Assist with interviewing, training, scheduling, performance and productivity of all grocery department team members
• Assist with completing and communicating performance evaluations in a timely manner within the department
• Ensure proper rotation procedures are being enforced
• Assist with managing all dairy/frozen and grocery merchandising
• Assist with ordering all seasonal merchandise and maintaining records of movement
• Assist with coordinating and maintaining all displays and quantity purchases
• Assist with grocery and dairy/frozen ad estimates and purchasing
• Coordinate with all grocery DSD partners on displays and buy-ins

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year store experience
• Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time (up to 6 hours)
• Ability to bend, lift, and perform all other physical aspects of the job
