About This Role

Lead sales efforts within an assigned territory, focusing on identification, lead generation, sales calls, and negotiation through deal closure for AI and ERP solutions targeting local and state governments.

Responsibilities

  • Quarterback the customer relationship for the full OpenGov team, driving overall account strategy and marshaling the pre-sales team
  • Establish, handle, and manage relationships between OpenGov and senior leaders of customer and prospect government entities
  • Generate new leads through networking and prospecting, including cold calling, and using marketing and PR activities
  • Make sales presentations to customers and prospects at all levels and in various departments of leading governments
  • Target account selling (prospecting/lead generation, qualification and scoping, closing strategies, negotiations)
  • Interface and develop professional relationships with existing customers and prospects throughout all organizational levels
  • Collaborate with OpenGov's marketing team to develop and execute demand generation campaigns
  • Lead contract negotiations
  • Partner with Marketing on leads from trade shows and campaigns and help set event strategy
  • Manage sales processes and participate in sales planning status meetings (MEDDIC methodology, QBRs)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 to 5 years of quota-carrying sales experience
  • Previous experience selling software solutions
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Consistent track record of hitting and exceeding quotas
  • Ability to close complex, consultative deals
  • Solid computer skills including Salesforce or comparable CRM
  • Crisp written communication and fluency of expression

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3 to 5 years of quota-carrying sales experience previously selling software solutions
