Engineering Technician III

About This Role

Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards. Document findings and communicate results to project managers and relevant personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel)
• Communicate with project manager, client representative, contractor’s representative and others regarding project requirements and testing results
• Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
• Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in written and digital reports for daily transmittal
• Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas
• Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures
• Provide clear documentation of findings and results
• Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager
• Maintain equipment and calibration
• Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
• Soils/Density Testing experience
• ACI Field Tech 1 Certification
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience

Nice to Have

• Certifications in two or more of the listed areas (NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, ACI, RRO)
