Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards. Document findings and communicate results to project managers and relevant personnel.
Responsibilities
- Perform field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel)
- Communicate with project manager, client representative, contractor’s representative and others regarding project requirements and testing results
- Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observation in written and digital reports for daily transmittal
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas
- Perform testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and specified procedures
- Provide clear documentation of findings and results
- Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager
- Maintain equipment and calibration
- Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
- Soils/Density Testing experience
- ACI Field Tech 1 Certification
- Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience
Nice to Have
- Certifications in two or more of the listed areas (NICET, ICC, AWS, ASNT, ACI, RRO)
