Emerging Store Manager

About This Role

Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters, manage the front end of the store, and make recommendations on overall pharmacy and retail operations. Support the Store Manager in achieving company deliverables and ensure proper merchandising, asset protection, and improved sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
• Manage front end of the store and make recommendations on overall Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
• Support Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables
• Assume responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager
• Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
• Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
• Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Supervise control of store cash management and oversee all aspects of bookkeeping
• Supervise front end and pharmacy inventory, complete resets/revisions and price changes
• Independently analyze financial and performance data and create action plans to support achievement of business deliverables

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills and business acumen
• Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
• Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position and potentially relocate
• Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring Area

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record OR satisfactorily completed a Walgreens Community Internship Program OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of supervisory experience
• 2 years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports) OR completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program
