Emerging Store Manager

About This Role

Supervise customer service and front-end operations for a Walgreens store, supporting the Store Manager in achieving company deliverables, managing sales, profitability, and asset protection. This role involves leading and developing store team members, ensuring a positive customer experience, and maintaining operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
• Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on overall Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
• Support the Store Manager with overall store operation to achieve company deliverables
• Assume responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager
• Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
• Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
• Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive customer experience
• Monitor customer service, provide coaching, training, and develop improvement plans for front-end and pharmacy
• Supervise store operation and team members, including assigning daily activities, delegating tasks, and managing scheduling
• Analyze financial and performance data, create action plans, and identify sales opportunities
• Provide training, mentoring, coaching, and support for team member career development

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership abilities that include professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills and strong business acumen
• Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
• Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, if offered, which could require relocation to a different store location
• Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets located within the same hiring Area

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome OR satisfactorily completed a Walgreens Community Internship Program OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a supervisory position
• 2+ years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports) if no degree is present; management experience including supervising others across front-end and pharmacy (preferred for internal candidates); prior retail or food industry experience (preferred for external candidates).
