About This Role

Supervise customer service and designated hitters while managing the front end of the store and contributing to the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. Support the Store Manager in achieving company deliverables and improving sales and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
  • Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
  • Support Store Manager with overall store operations and achieve company deliverables
  • Work alternate schedules with the Store Manager and assume all store activities in absence of Store Manager
  • Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
  • Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
  • Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive customer experience
  • Monitor customer service, provide coaching, training, and develop improvement plans
  • Supervise store operations, including assigning daily activities, delegating tasks, and managing scheduling conflicts
  • Supervise control of store cash management, including register counts, bank withdraws, safe deposits, and bookkeeping
  • Supervise front end and pharmacy inventory, completing resets/revisions and price changes
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables
  • Primarily lead and train team members, providing mentoring, coaching, and support for career development

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, and strong communication skills and business acumen
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
  • Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which could require relocation
  • Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring Area
  • Obtain and maintain valid pharmacy technician license as required by state

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record OR High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports) or internal management experience
