Supervise customer service associates and manage the front end of the store operations. Provide recommendations for the Pharmacy and Retail Store's overall operations, ensuring proper merchandising, asset protection, and improved sales and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
- Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on overall Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
- Support Store Manager with overall store operation and achieve company deliverables
- Assume responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager
- Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
- Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
- Engage customers and patients, resolve complaints, and provide coaching on customer service best practices
- Supervise store operation and team members, including assigning daily activities and managing scheduling
- Collaborate with external partners and support community outreach opportunities
- Supervise store cash management and all aspects of bookkeeping
- Supervise front end and pharmacy inventory, completing resets/revisions and price changes
- Ensure store interior and exterior are clean and presentable and manage repairs
- Independently analyze financial and performance data and create action plans for business deliverables
- Train, mentor, coach, and support team members for career development
- Acquire and retain talent, build pipelines, and manage candidate pools for staffing needs
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills and strong business acumen
- Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
- Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which could require relocation
- Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring Area
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record OR High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports)
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Management experience, including supervising others, managing, and assigning work (for internal candidates)
- Experience across both front-end and pharmacy (for internal candidates)
- Business majors (for external candidates)
- Prior retail or food industry experience (for external candidates)
