About This Role

Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters, managing the front end of the store and making recommendations for overall pharmacy and retail operations. Support the Store Manager in achieving company deliverables and assume responsibility for all store activities in their absence, focusing on merchandising, asset protection, and increasing sales.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
  • Manage the front end of the store and make recommendations on overall Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
  • Support the Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables
  • Work an alternate schedule with the Store Manager with minimal overlap
  • Assume responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
  • Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving complaints and answering questions
  • Monitor customer service, provide coaching and training, and develop improvement plans for front-end and pharmacy
  • Supervise store cash management including register counts, bank transactions, and bookkeeping
  • Supervise front end and pharmacy inventory, executing resets/revisions and price changes
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables
  • Lead and train team members, providing mentoring, coaching, and support for career development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record ORA High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a supervisory position
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills and business acumen
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
  • Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which could require relocation
  • Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring Area
  • Obtain and maintain valid pharmacy technician license as required by state

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record, all majors welcome OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a supervisory position
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports)
