About This Role

This role supervises customer service associates and designated hitters, overseeing the front end of the store and contributing recommendations for the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store. The Emerging Store Manager supports the Store Manager in achieving company deliverables, manages store team members, and ensures proper merchandising and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise customer service associates and designated hitters
  • Manage front end of the store and make recommendations on Pharmacy and Retail Store operations
  • Support Store Manager with overall store operations and achieve company deliverables
  • Assume responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Ensure proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improve store sales and profitability
  • Lead and manage store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline
  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance, resolving complaints and answering questions
  • Supervise store operation and team members, including assigning daily activities and managing scheduling
  • Analyze financial and performance data to create action plans for business deliverables
  • Lead and train team members, providing mentoring, coaching, and support for career development

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including professional business ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills, and strong business acumen
  • Completion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials training within 12 weeks of ESM start date
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule including extended days, evenings, and weekend hours
  • Willingness to accept promotion into a Store Manager position, which could require relocation
  • Ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets located within the same hiring Area

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a solid academic record OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience in a supervisory position
  • 2 years of experience in a supervisory position (does not require experience with direct reports)
