Electrical Field Service Technician

About This Role

The Electrical Field Service Technician provides on-site support to clients, including training, troubleshooting, and maintenance of custom machinery, with a focus on electrical components. This role involves significant travel to client sites and requires specialized electrical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site training to customers' operators and technicians on the set-up, operation, change-over, and maintenance of systems.
• Attend various classes to obtain and maintain service training certification by the Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Association (PMMI).
• Assemble component parts for the Aftermarket parts group and engage in occasional machine rebuilds/upgrades.
• Research machine designs to identify non-standard parts and respond to customers' outreach for immediate service support.
• Prepare detailed trip reports for customers and the company, identifying problems, actions, and recommended next steps.
• Create machine operation manuals/troubleshooting guides and participate in customer Factory Acceptance Tests.

Requirements

• 8+ years in a relevant Service Tech support role in the manufacturing space
• Minimum 3 years in custom machine manufacturing or electrical repair & maintenance
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical design software
• Versed in electrical technical applications (Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI logic, servo AC/DC motors and controls, electrical power distribution, and pneumatic driven machinery)
• Ability to read and understand complex engineering designs, including wiring schematics
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a relevant Service Tech support role in the manufacturing space, with a minimum of 3 years in custom machine manufacturing or electrical repair & maintenance.

Nice to Have

• Packaging industry experience
• Familiarity with UL, NEMA, and CE code
• Syteline ERP
