Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies in the echocardiography lab and provide age-appropriate, high-quality patient care in a courteous and respectful manner. This role involves conducting stress echo sonography and/or TAVRS/procedures, or holding two or more registries.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures and examinations according to established department guidelines
- Communicate and explain exam procedures to patients and family members to ensure understanding and consent
- Assess patient's medical, cardiac, or vascular status by taking a history before the exam
- Assemble patient charts and enter information into the current PACS System or Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Record all imaging studies for review and interpretation by the Medical Director or designee
- Complete patient billing accurately and timely for procedures performed
- Participate in the development of new diagnostic testing procedures and evaluation of new equipment
- Educate residents and other medical or technical staff on technical aspects, indications, and limitations
- Practice according to safety and infection control policies, including universal precautions and equipment disinfection
- Provide service excellence to customers by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner
Requirements
- Completion of Cardiac Sonography program
- ARDMS or CCI certification in adult echo sonography
