Dispatcher

About This Role

The Dispatcher communicates with drivers to resolve issues, coordinates vehicle utilization, and manages customer service requests to ensure efficient and timely service.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch drivers to calls considering customer needs, driver locations, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction
• Ensure maximum productivity by achieving or exceeding Company goals through successful vehicle routing
• Assign routes and service to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day, managing route actions and ensuring completion
• Handle incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales, managing requests for all container movements
• Initiate communication to customers while drivers are on-site and resolve pick-up and service delays
• Update and inform Customer Care of any service delays to keep customers notified
• Prepare, update and dispense daily route schedules and maintain route sheet documentation
• Report driver performance issues or concerns to appropriate management for resolution
• Participate in training and other learning opportunities

Requirements

• Legally eligible to work in the US
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment
• High attention to detail
• Excellent multi-tasking skills
• Excellent listening, communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to prioritize

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
