Lead global, cross-functional teams to execute strategies for new synthetic product introductions, ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle from development through commercialization. This role is crucial for developing product strategic roadmaps, coordinating supply chain activities, and ensuring tech transfer and global launches.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategy and execution for new synthetic product launches, working with CMC and Global Commercial Teams.
- Manage all activities from Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient to Finished Goods distribution for new synthetic products.
- Develop and implement the Product Strategic Roadmap (PSR) and coordinate IMSC activities and resources.
- Ensure efficient tech transfer, support global launches, and manage business continuity planning.
- Identify, mitigate, and communicate supply chain-related risks throughout product development, launch readiness, and optimization stages.
- Represent IMSC in Integrated Brand Value Teams and Disease Area Strongholds, building partnerships with key stakeholders.
- Mentor and provide feedback to VCT members and their functional management, fostering an environment that challenges the status quo.
- Evaluate and improve supply chain reliability, resilience, and cycle time reduction, using digital tools for end-to-end optimization.
- Oversee product performance by managing COGs, monitoring quality metrics and inventory, and ensuring compliance.
Requirements
- Knowledge of developing and manufacturing complex synthetic products (synthetic chemistry, continuous manufacturing, spray drying, Process Analytical Technology (PAT)).
- Thorough grasp of API/DP Operations, Manufacturing, Technical Transfers, New Product Development and Launch, Quality and Regulatory matters.
- Background in managing portfolios featuring complex products or projects.
- Proven history of delivering outcomes and leading multifunctional, global virtual teams effectively.
- Proficiency in understanding business needs and supply chain product metrics, with demonstrated capacity to enhance those metrics.
- Skilled in preparing cost-benefit analyses and presenting compelling business cases to stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries through influence, negotiation, and partnership.
- Outstanding English communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels, and clear communication to Sr leaders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering field, with preference for advanced technical degree (MSc, PhD) or an MBA related to science or engineering.
- Extensive experience (typically 10-12 years) in both supply chain operations and R&D within the pharmaceutical or comparable industry.
