About This Role

Lead and manage a sales team responsible for achieving budgeted sales quotas within the automotive software sector. This role involves direct supervision of Account Development Executives, strategic planning, and driving client retention for cloud-based software solutions for dealerships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a sales team to achieve budgeted sales quota
  • Directly supervise a team of 5+ Account Development Executives
  • Monitor sales team performance and achieve financial goals
  • Develop, motivate, and counsel staff, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Provide feedback about market conditions and plan sales strategy per quarter
  • Accountable for working with current and competitive accounts
  • Hire and build a successful sales team
  • Direct and manage staff performance
  • Handle customer issues and satisfaction
  • Assist in driving efforts to increase client retention

Requirements

  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in leading a quota-exceeding outside B2B sales team
  • Experience selling complex software systems
  • Experience selling Dealer Management Systems to automotive dealerships
  • Demonstrated track record of success in a solutions selling environment
  • 1-3 years of outside B2B sales/including new business development
  • Experience in automotive industry required
  • Excellent planning, project management, analytical and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a multi-functional team environment, with a strong track record of delivering measurable results
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to a variety of senior level audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to make meaningful recommendations to senior management regarding the strategic direction of the sales organization
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technology applications
  • Excellent work ethic, with ability to succeed in a competitive, high-performance work environment
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% is required
  • Quota at 100% or more every year

Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 6-8 years of experience in leading a quota-exceeding outside B2B sales team, selling complex software systems; 1-3 years of outside B2B sales/including new business development.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of automotive - technology and digital solutions preferred
