Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor

About This Role

This role will provide electronics training and instruction to incarcerated individuals, focusing on standard practices for maintenance and repair of electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices. The instructor will also maintain order and documentation of inmate progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide inmates with training and instruction in the field of electronics
• Teach standard practices, methods, and procedures for maintenance and repair of electronic, electrical, and mechanical devices
• Conduct classroom training
• Maintain order and discipline during work assignments
• Keep documentation of inmate training, progress, attendance, and assignment details
• Oversee and direct inmate work crews for on-the-job training
• Plan and assign daily schedules for inmates
• Inspect completed work assignments

Requirements

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
• Meet PA residency requirement
• Ability to perform essential job functions
• Pass a background investigation
• Meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
