Child Care Center Cook

About This Role

The Child Care Cook is responsible for overall food preparation for the school's enrolled children, creating home-style, nutritional meal plans within budget and regulatory guidelines, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget, adhering to state and federal requirements
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff
• Distribute food to classrooms
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director incorporating USDA, licensing, and health department regulations
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order more when needed
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater

Requirements

• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

Qualifications

• Entry level with preferred work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility.
