Child Care Center Cook

About This Role

This role is responsible for the overall food preparation for enrolled children, adapting to menu changes, and meeting meal and snack schedules within a child care center environment.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu and budget, adhering to state and federal requirements
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to classrooms
• Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and health department regulations
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and place orders as needed
• Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater when necessary

Requirements

• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
