Child Care Center Cook

About This Role

This role is responsible for the overall food preparation for enrolled children at a childcare center, focusing on creating nutritional meal plans within budget and regulatory requirements. The Child Care Cook will ensure timely meal and snack distribution and maintain food inventory.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the school's menu, budget, and state/federal requirements
• Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff
• Distribute food to classrooms
• Follow daily menus provided by the Director, adhering to USDA, licensing, and health department regulations
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and place orders as needed
• Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher/Floater when required

Requirements

• Willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
• Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

Qualifications

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred.
