Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Engage customers, assist pharmacists in pharmacy operations, and maintain inventory and workflow efficiently. This role ensures a positive customer experience while complying with all state, federal, and company policies, contributing to the overall success of the pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision, in accordance with state, federal, and company policies.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information.
• Fill prescriptions, verify medicine, and check for possible interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhere to Quality Improvement Program.
• Process manual claims for third-party programs and perform clerical duties.
• Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering and storing pharmaceuticals.
• Support the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and improving pharmacy performance data.
• Assist with administering clinical services and coordinating with external providers.
• Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers on processes and tools for efficiency.
• Maintain PTCB or ExCPT certification and acquire continuing education credits.

Requirements

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (with exceptions)

Qualifications

• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.

Nice to Have

• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Basic math skills (counting, measuring and weighing medications)
• Basic level PC skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
