Certified Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing pharmacy services to customers, ensuring accurate prescription processing and a positive customer experience, while adhering to all state, federal, and company regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including filling prescriptions and verifying medicine.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties.
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, storing pharmaceuticals).
• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for inventory discrepancies.
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services, including blood/urine sample collection and proper labeling.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing relationships with the local medical community.

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
